Curses, Swears & Maledictions - exhibition collateral

in 2024, i produced marketing collateral for an art exhibiton in Glasgow. the initial brief was to produce a flyer or poster to promote the exhibition, but was later expanded to a suite of event collateral. the artist supplied works and copy, as well as some reference points, such as victorian circus materials and letterpress-inspired typography, but the overall brief was fairly free-reign.

with this project, i wanted to take aspects of these reference points and combine them with the general vibe of the art, which was surreal and unsettling. as such, the heavy letterpress-inspired typography was utilised to draw back to old victorian print materials without feeling like a direct pastiche. bold grid layouts were utilised to make the materials feel distinctly modern.

the leaflet was developed from a 2 sided flyer to a z-fold leaflet that expands upon the bold typographic style and grid layout. alongside this, a postcard/business card was produced, as well as social media assets.
